Old post, yes, but here’s some new information for the search bots. With Zenphoto 1.2, all you need to do is copy your albums from the gallery2 data folder into the zenphoto albums folder. It does everything else automatically. Note, you’ll probably have to rename the albums, and do some rearranging, depending on how much extra stuff you had in your gallery2 install.

Travis, what an excellent tool for anyone considering the move from Gallery2 to Zenphoto! I haven’t tried it out yet, since I no longer have a Gallery2 installation, but thanks a bunch for creating this migrator.

Thanks for the followup comment. You’re the first hit on google for “migrate gallery zenphoto” that actually mentions migration in the link description.

Yoram, when I migrated I had to reupload them, alas. I uploaded the files and folders via ftp, but had to re-enter all of the titles and descriptions. Check out the Zenphoto forums to see if there might be a faster/easier solution. (There wasn't one, other than ftp and the web UI, AFAICT, when I had posted this in January.)

Hello there!

I too find zenphoto very interesting and well designed, but am currently a gallery user. Would you be able to tell me how to move all my photos across to zenphoto without having to reupload them all?
